Matthew Murray, M.D., Ph.D.

University Lecturer, Department of Pathology,
University of Cambridge

Honorary Consultant Paediatric Oncologist,
Department of Paediatric Haematology and Oncology,
Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation

Trust, Cambridge.

Dr. Murray’s work focuses on the biology of pediatric tumors, with a particular emphasis on small, non-coding RNAs, including microRNAs, in malignant GCTs. He is exploiting altered microRNA profiles in both pediatric tumors and patients’ bloodstream at diagnosis to identify novel biomarkers of disease and potential therapeutic targets. Dr. Murray has shown leadership in GCT biology at a national and international level through his involvement in the National Cancer Research Institute (NCRI) GCT Subgroup of the Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Clinical Studies Group, the NCRI Teenage and Young Adult Clinical Studies Group, the International Society of Paediatric Oncology (SIOP-Europe) Brain Tumour Group and through the MaGIC Consortium.
